Business Empire

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Business Empire ("we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of Business Empire (the "Game"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or playing the Game, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to create an account or use the cloud-save and leaderboard features of the Game. Anyone may play the single-player, Guest-mode portion of the Game where local law and app-store policy permit, subject to any age rating applied by the distributing app store.
Business Empire is a work of satire and fiction. It depicts a fictional criminal underworld, fictional businesses, fictional law-enforcement and legal systems, and fictional characters engaging in fictional illegal activity purely as game mechanics (for example: "crimes," "heists," "money laundering," and similar systems) for entertainment purposes only.
Nothing in the Game is instructional, is intended to depict real people, organizations, or events, or should be read as an endorsement, encouragement, or how-to guide for any unlawful activity in the real world. All in-game currency, businesses, and property are entirely virtual and have no cash value, are not redeemable for real money or any other item of value, and exist only within the Game.
You are not required to create an account to play the Game — a Guest mode is available with the full single-player experience. If you choose to create an account (including via email/password or a third-party sign-in provider), you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we reasonably believe is being used in violation of these Terms, including abuse of the username system, the leaderboard, or any exploit of the Game's systems.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Business Empire grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the Game on a device you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial entertainment. This license does not grant you any ownership interest in the Game, its software, or any of its content.
The Game may include virtual currency, virtual property, and other virtual items that exist only within the Game (collectively, "Virtual Items"). Virtual Items have no monetary value, are not real currency or property of any kind, cannot be exchanged for real money, goods, or services, and are not transferable outside the Game. We may add, modify, or remove any Virtual Item, and may reset, rebalance, or wipe game progress (for example, as part of the Game's own "Prestige" or "Reset Progress" features, which you may choose to trigger yourself) at any time, without liability to you.
As of this version, the Game does not sell Virtual Items or offer any in-app purchase for real money. If this changes in a future update, additional terms governing purchases will be presented to you before you are asked to pay anything, and your local app store's payment terms will also apply.

The Game, including its software, design, artwork, text, and all other content (excluding third-party open-source components used under their own licenses), is owned by Business Empire or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license granted in Section 4, no rights are transferred to you.
The Game relies on third-party services (including Supabase for backend infrastructure and Sentry for crash reporting) to operate certain features. Your use of those features is also subject to the applicable third party's own terms, to the extent they apply to end users. We are not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party services outside our control.
THE GAME IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE GAME WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY SAVED PROGRESS WILL NEVER BE LOST, ALTHOUGH WE TAKE REASONABLE STEPS TO PREVENT DATA LOSS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUSINESS EMPIRE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROGRESS, OR VIRTUAL ITEMS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE GAME, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE GAME SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) TEN U.S. DOLLARS ($10), AS THE GAME IS FREE TO PLAY AS OF THIS VERSION. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
You may stop using the Game and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Game or any account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraud or abuse, or if we discontinue the Game entirely. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 7, 9, 10, and 13) will survive.
We may update, modify, or discontinue any feature of the Game, and may update these Terms, at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the "Last Updated" date below and, where appropriate, notify you in-app before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Game after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Game will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer-protection law grants you the right to bring a claim in your own local courts, which this section does not override.
